JOB SUMMARY
The Therapist is a fully licensed, out-patient, mental health counselor/therapist responsible for providing outpatient
mental health services, including individual, couples, family, and/or group counseling sessions.
 
RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: 
Executive Director-Impact Fargo

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete diagnostic assessments utilizing DSM-V diagnostic criteria.
  • Create and implement treatment plans and keep case notes up to date per True North Counseling Policy.
  • Coordinate with social and medical agencies, healthcare providers, and community outreach programs to provide clients with needed services.
  • Offer individual, couples, groups, and/or family counseling according to preference and competency.
  • Abide by HIPAA laws and maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • Compile and study occupational, educational, biblical, and economic information to assist clients in determining and carrying out personal goals and objectives.
  • Attend weekly counselor staff meetings.
  • Operate computer software and office equipment with proficiency.
  • Professional, ethical, and self-motivated.
  • Maintain licensure and continuing education units.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Director- Impact Fargo for projects or events as needed.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Executive Director-Impact Fargo, Executive Pastor,
    or Lead Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Required Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Part-Time: Client Hours each week to be determined by practitioner and True North Counseling
  • Must be fully licensed (or able to be) in North Dakota, and 3rd party credentialed/ eligible. Eligible mental health professionals include a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Must carry malpractice insurance.
  • Must exhibit excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Individual must be teachable, self-motivated, and team oriented.
  • Must exhibit a passion for nurturing people, be conscientious with a keen sense of wisdom and discernment with excellent relational skills.
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive institutional information.
