Our Beliefs

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of True North Church, based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

There is one God, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, who eternally exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three share the same authority, possess the same character and nature, and operate in complete unity.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is our Savior, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for all sin, and was raised from the grave after three days in victory over sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return.

The Holy Spirit is one with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Those who accept Christ as their Savior will receive the Holy Spirit as their Comforter, Guide, and Advocate. The Holy Spirit also equips believers to carry out Jesus’ mission on earth.

The Bible is made up of the 66 books of the Old and New Testament, given by divine inspiration. It is a guide to experiencing God’s love, His plan of salvation, and the path to abundant life.

Salvation is the gift of forgiveness of sin, freedom from the power of sin, and the blessing of eternal life. It is provided for by God’s grace through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and his resurrection from the dead. And it is received by turning from sin and trusting in Christ as Savior and Lord.

The Church is composed of all those who have believed in Christ for salvation. The Church is gathered as God’s family and represents Him in the world. God calls the Church to live in unity and fellowship through the Spirit, worship through the preaching of the Word, observe the sacraments, and minister in His name.
